Radio Review

From a Different Perspective

A weekly, half-hour radio program produced by the Development Education Centre in Toronto, Canada, From a Different Perspective presents and comments on news and developments in the Third World. The producers of the show - Robert Clarke, Peter Davies, and Richard Swift-present a moderately paced, concise, and informative broadcast information on the Third World from the point of view of people in the Third World.

Each week, the program focuses on a different theme (topics have included militarism and women in development), as well as stories about specific countries and situations such as South African political prisoners and human rights violations in Latin America. A broadcast about the effects of multinational corporations in the Third World included reports on Del Monte and transfer pricing in Kenya, the Geest Corporation's control of agricultural trade in the Eastern Caribbean, and Brazilian automobile production, as well as an interview with Steven Langdon, author of a report on Canadian investments in the Third World.

From a Different Perspective is distributed to 11 stations in the U.S. by the National Federation of Community Broadcasters 1314 14th St. N.W., Washington, D.C. 20005.
